  1.                      JOYSTICK SETUP INFORMATION NOTES
  2.  
  3.     These notes are provided to help you set up the generic
  4.     joystick drivers that are supplied with Lode Runner. If 
  5.     you have Windows joystick drivers that came with your 
  6.     joystick it is highly recommended that you use those  
  7.     drivers. Please consult your joystick manual to see if it
  8.     came with Windows support and follow the installation
  9.     instructions contained in your joystick manual. 
  10.

  12.     While the following steps will help guide you through the 
  13.     joystick setup it is highly recommended that you also consult
  14.     your Windows manual if you are not familiar with configuring 
  15.     drivers.
  16.  
  17.     The CONTROL PANEL section of the manual will explain how to use 
  18.     the DRIVERS menus in greater detail.
  19.

  21.     If you do not currently have a joystick configured for use 
  22.     with Windows there is an option during the install process 
  23.     which will copy the driver files necessary to allow joystick 
  24.     control. Once the driver files are installed it will then be
  25.     necessary to configure Windows to use the joystick.

  28.     ************ENABLING JOYSTICK SUPPORT FOR WINDOWS**************

  31.     Once you have finished installing Lode Runner the following 
  32.     steps will enable joystick support:
  33.  
  34.  
  35.     1)  When the game finishes installing open the CONTROL PANEL
  36.         menu located in the MAIN group on your desktop.
  37.  
  38.     2)  Click on the DRIVERS Icon and select: Add.
  39.  
  40.     3)  Open the ADD menu and select: Unlisted or Updated.
  41.  
  42.     4)  In the INSTALL DRIVER menu: Type the location of your 
  43.         Windows directory.
  44.  
  45.         Example: If your Windows directory is C:\WINDOWS
  46.         type the following in the text box:

  48.         C:\WINDOWS
  49.  
  50.     5)  When the ADD UNLISTED OR UPDATED DRIVER menu opens
  51.         select OK.
  52.  
  53.     6)  When the GAME ADAPTER SETUP menu opens choose the 
  54.         joystick option and select OK.
  55.  
  56.     7)  In the Drivers Menu select CLOSE.

  58.     8)  Select Restart Windows.

  62.     JOYSTICK SELECTION AND CALIBRATION

  64.     1)  Open the CONTROL PANEL. 
  65.  
  66.     2)  Click on the Joystick Applet.

  68.     3)  Select the options listed and click OK.

  70.     4)  Close the Control Panel.

  72.     5)  Have a great time playing Lode Runner!

  76.                MANUAL JOYSTICK DRIVER INSTALLATION

  79.     If you chose not to install the joystick drivers during the
  80.     installation process there are instructions for manually  
  81.     copying the files. These instructions are available by 
  82.     clicking on the Lode Runner Information icon located in the 
  83.     desktop group where the game is located.
